MBP not rebooting is it bricked?

Post by Nettlecombe »

Hello,

So I'm a novice with meteobridge pro but familiar with IT and basic Networking.

Our MBP stopped working a month ago. After trying to reset the Network Setup the MBP now just loads the Boot up screen and the bar fills up and then it just stays on the screen with the red light fast flashing (I have left it in this state for a couple of hours to see if anything would happen). The same happens if you go to any of the options (Wi fi reboot / Lan reboot etc) it will appear on the screen the bar fills up and then the screen appears with the name from the menu and red light fast flashing. Again have given time for the options to see what would happen.

I have powered on connected via lan to the router and the information shows it has an IP address. I can find the MBP on the network on this IP address, It shows a file called Data which is not accessible?

It feels like the device needs to be flashed with a firmware but everywhere states this doesnt need to happen?

I have wasted too many hours trying to get this little red box working again already so any help on this one would really make my day, Frustrating!

can you login via ssh or a browser?
did you try resetting it with the pinhole reset button?

Yes I can access via browser and it takes me to the black with white writing landing page.

I also reset via the pinhole and after I did this it started just staying on the boot screen with the logo and the white bar fills and then unfills and then fills?

Is the cloud simulator the way to go with a MBpro? the wiki seems to state this is for non MBpro devices?
