Recently, I see shadow-like darker areas in my MB PRO display. This just started happening. I reverted the firmware to see if it had any effect, but it was still there.
Anyone else see this? I bought it from Ambient Weather, but they say that they don't cover anything not manufactured by them. I assume that the MB PRO falls into this category.

Re: Meteobridge PRO display has developed dark areas
OLED display does wear-out a bit over time. That OLED cells do get darker after a certain
amount of displaying bright content is something that has to do with the technology used.
We cannot do anything against it. You can reduce the wear-out by shutting off the display
during times of the day you don't need it. This can be controlled on "system" tab.

Mine has developed the same fault. Really disappointing after only 4 months use.
Re: Meteobridge PRO display has developed dark areas
I tried this, but the last message persisted in the display. I set the Display Event to "Off". Is there some other way to do this?admin wrote:OLED display does wear-out a bit over time. That OLED cells do get darker after a certain

Also, I read some articles on line about OLED. While it is not possible to avoid this wear-out, there are some wear-leveling methods to invert the display. Perhaps a future release could implement some kind of rotating inversion, a "screen saver" of sorts?
Maybe some "display hours" option, where I could automatically turn off the display at night and wake it up during the day.
Ultimately, are replacement displays available? Eventually I see the need to replace the display, even with some countermeasures. My MB PRO is almost 1 year old, this month.

Have you checked the "Display Control" option on the System tab, "day on, night off" or the scheduled where you can select the turn on then turn off times?miraculon wrote: Maybe some "display hours" option, where I could automatically turn off the display at night and wake it up during the day....

Thanks, I never noticed that before. I set it to the day/night mode. Maybe this will make the display last a bit longer...Mattk wrote:Have you checked the "Display Control" option on the System tab, "day on, night off" or the scheduled where you can select the turn on then turn off times?miraculon wrote: Maybe some "display hours" option, where I could automatically turn off the display at night and wake it up during the day....
