Cloud setup without a Router

Post by Willum »

I'm doing something wrong - but I don't know what! It is probably a lack of understanding/knowledge.
To set the scene/environment, I'm in Europe, in a motorhome, with my Davis Vantage Vue mounted on top. I'm trying to avoid cables trailing all over the inside of the motorhome.
I have a TP-Link 3020, that - as far as I can tell - has been correctly flashed with the Meteobridge software.
I want to access it to set it up and use it, with my Vue plus Belfryboy Data Logger plugged into it, and download the Davis data wirelessly.
I do NOT have access to a wireless router/router of any kind. I am reliant on (often not very good) wifi access points for the internet and my trusty laptop.
I read the wiki for the Cloud method of setting the Meteobridge and fed my home network SSID and passphrase into it, and downloaded the file onto a (freshly formatted) memory stick.
Following the wiki again, I booted up the Meteobridge with the stick inserted and all seemed to work fine - but the thing went back to rapid flashing. I extracted the stick, checked it and the log file has been written back to it.
I reset everything, wiped the stick and downloaded a new Cloud file. Same result.
I'm probably not giving the Cloud enough information?
What else should I have entered and where do I find it?
I assume adding my home network SSID and passphrase is only to get me round adding it when I'm back home?
