I can not access my meteobridge **solved**

Post by captgadget »

What in the world happens that I can't log into my meteobridge? I've type the IP address in and it tells me it failed to open the page. I hate to to the config.meteobridge.com all the time and I don't think I should have to.

Is the network setup correctly?
Is the IP DHCP or Static?
Do you know for sure the IP address is correct?

I wrote it down and tried it in my browser, closed the browser, came back and now it won't let me log in.

DHCP lease may have expired or changed for some reason? Have a look on the MB display panel, the IP is normally displayed there. Otherwise login into your router and check the DHCP Lease list IP relative to the MB's Mac address.

Not sure if I found the problem or not but I logged into the modem and there was a 1 hour lease on DHCP so I changed that to forever. I still can't log in but maybe something will happen now.

Not much will happen now, what you will need to do is discover what the MB DHCP IP address is. You should be able to find this in the router/modem? Did you check the MB display?

The modem gives me the IP and then is what happens:This site can’t be reached

http://192.168.0.15/cgi-bin/meteobridge.cgi is unreachable.

After I did the USB stick, I could get on it for about an hour but then this morning no go.

Thanks for staying with me on this issue.

Please tell your router to give it a fixed IP based on its MAC.
There is no way around this, lease times don't fix it.
Did your try magicip.meteobridge.com? It is btw all in the wiki...

When I'm in the modem/router it gives me meteobridge under DHCP/ReservedIP

Don't know how magic works but it logged me right in.

After some trial and error I finally got this fixed. You said to set up a static IP and I wasn't sure what you meant. I thought I had to do it in the router but nothing there was working. So when I finally got my Meteobridge running I finally saw something there about a manual IP address. So I did that and happy days it seems to be working. I just have difficulty sometimes reading between the lines.
