Data uploads with intermittent cellular internet

Post by webfarm »

Hi,

I'd like to know how MB Pro handles intermittent cellular connections (I plan to use 3G USB Dongle).

Does MB Pro record sensor data values (time series) to local storage first, before attempting to upload this to say WU? If yes, does this imply that if internet connection is down (for say an hour) and then comes back up again, MB Pro would batch upload last one hour worth of data to WU (hence no eventual loss of data)?

I'd really like MB Pro to graciously handle intermittent internet, as I plan to use this in remote area where this is common.

Thanks

Have no background on WU but my take would be final output may be reliant on the system being uploaded to? MB does store a sequential time series which for example allows past data to be exported at a point in time e.g at say midnight MBPro can export/upload the past 24 hours of data at 1 minute intervals. So the data is there it may just depend on how WU (in this instance ) operates? All this of course assumes MB is running and not down due to power etc

On a different note maybe you could improve the internet connection/reception especially if using a 3G dongle?
