Meteobridge Through OpenVPN Router

Post by dmcmkl »

I am having problems getting my TP-LINK TL-MR3020 Meteobridge device working when going through an ASUS RT-AC88U router. The router has been flashed with the latest Merlin firmware and configured to use a Private Internet Access OpenVPN connection. As soon as I activate the VPN on my router my WeatherUnderground page stops receiving weather information from my Meteobridge. All other devices on my network continue to function normally.

My Meteobridge is currently using a LAN connection direct to a LAN port on the router. I still have a valid IP address but nothing is getting through the router. I would have included screenshots of my router configuration to help with answering this question but I did not know what information would be of the most use in solving this problem.

I would truly like to send all my home network through a OpenVPN connection on my router but for this one problem with my Meteobridge. Any help in resolving this problem is very much appreciated.

Thanks,
Don Clark

Not sure what you are exactly doing with your VPN.
Meteobridge does need a working DNS so this might somehow
being screwed by the VPN. Did you try configuring the
Meteobridge statically and giving the google DNS
8.8.8.8 as the DNS to use.
