MB Pro Red radio receiver compatability

Post by aus_e »

Does the MB Pro support the restricted radio frequency spectrum used by Davis Instruments Vantage Pro 2 stations sold in Australia? The legal frequency range for is restricted to 915 MHz to 928 Mhz rather than the 902 MHz to 928 MHz (915 band) available in the US.

I don't know for certain that the Vantage Pro 2 wireless units sold in Australia actually use a modified transmitter. The exclusive Australian distributor claims that the units comply with Australian regulations, and so I am assuming that it must be the case.

The only reference to MB Pro in Australia that I can find is on the distributors site asking for "expressions of interest" with a view to importing some if is sufficient interest/demand. This suggests that the restricted frequency range is supported by the MB Pro, or that it can be modified (in software, I assume) to support it.

Thanks. I'll go shopping for one once I've committed to the weather station
