Hi there,
I've tried a few times to CLONE the USB stick, following the manual instructions, but I didn't succes any time.
I'm under v2.7 (last version)
Is there any one who had succeeded with that?

CLONE feature: does it work?

Re:CLONE feature: does it work?
Are you attempting to use the CLONE function as a method to back up your data, to upgrade to a larger USB disk, or because of concerns that your current disk might fail?
I've never tried the clone function with Meteohub, but personally I've had bad luck mirroring old operating system disks to new ones. Over time dozens of quirks, bugs and kinks arise on any file system, and cloning simply perpetuates them on the new disk. Plus, if you're dealing with a system that has been installed as one version and upgraded multiple times to newer versions, there are undoubtedly old, unneeded files and cruft in the dark corners of the disk.
Backing up your current data files and graph definitions is easy enough via the SMB share (and probably wise to do regularly anyway, given the failure rate of cheap flash drives), and the Maintenance tab lets you back up all the other configuration data, so why not just do a clean install of the latest version onto the new flash drive, and then copy the data files and graph definitions over? I suspect it won't take much longer than cloning anyway.

Re:CLONE feature: does it work?
Hi,
I do automatic regular backups twice a day, in different media, but I forgot to backup settings, which wasn't very clever from me!
Suddenly meteohub.conf was damaged, it stopped working and I neeeded to re-enter all the settings, graphs, network, etc...
Fortunately I had anorher USB with a 2.3 so it was less critical. Now I would like to have a security USB again and I was just giving a try to the feature... but I suspect it doesn't work (yet).
Now I did backup SETTINGS with the MAINTENANCE option available...
BTW, I do the daily backup over another NSLU2, and it works a treat!
Cheers,

Re:CLONE feature: does it work?
Just tried 2.8b clone feature. Is not clear to me it works fine.
It runs, yes, but I changed USB stick before turning on meteohub, so after 'clone' had shutted down the system, and IMO it doesn't work.
No beeps signaling IP. Just three beeps... and I couldn't reach meteohub.
Is there anyone who has already tested new feature?
BTW, it would be nice system gives more info when cloning and then, when finnished the operation halts, gives you the info everything is Ok (clone is ready). After operator validation, shut down.

Re:CLONE feature: does it work?
Hi,
Just wondering if new release (3.0) will have any changes related to CLONE feature.
I would like to have a real backup always B)

Does CLONE function work fine?
AFAIK it doesnt't.
Any positive experience with it? Or it is me
BTW, could it have some more info showing the process statuts?
