Looking to specifically buy MR3020 V3. How to tell?

Post by mthiessen »

Hi,
I'm looking to upgrade my MR3020 to the new MR3020 V3 model now that MB works better with it. I can find MR3020 on Amazon and NewEgg but how do I know if it's the V3? I've read all the specs and don't see reference to V3. I'm in the US and will be using it here.

Thanks,
Mark

They are different in the packaking and also have a V3 model sticker on the unit itself and the packaging.
You see the differences in the hardware section of www.meteobirdge.com: http://meteobridge.com/wiki/index.php/Hardware/de

I did ask the seller if it has the greenish packaging or the curved TP-Link logo when sold as used without packaging.
Apart from that you cannot be sure that the seller is sending the right unit as they are mostly not aware of the difference.

I guess we are in transition. In a few months none of the V1 models might be available as new anymore.

Thanks. Of the MR3020 I find online, I can't verify that indeed they are V3. Even if they are V3 they might be using the product photo of the earlier model. Even the specification and datasheet provided by tp-link doesn't offer a clue that it's V3. I guess I'll wait.
