WD Live calculated cloud base

Post by darren7303 »

I have noticed that with Weather Display Live my calculated cloudbase is worked out as being taken from sea level, not my altitude.

Is there anyway to correct this without upsetting any of the uploads to CWOP and WUnderground?

Thanks

cloud height is computed from temp and dew. Dew is computed from temp and hum. So there is no pressure or altitude information in there.

Do you thing your stations altitude should be computed in there?

Sorry I thought it was.

This website http://www.csgnetwork.com/estcloudbasecalc.html is using the station's altitude as part of their calculations.

Using the calculator with station altitude input at zero, gives the same reading as my WD Live is providing. Using the calculator with my station's altitude of 57m provides an increased altitude calculation.

I'm relatively new to this so could be barking up the wrong tree here.

Perhaps I need it explaining to me.

Thanks
