Weather Graph Time Resolution ** solved **

Post by giantmr4 »

After I upgrade the Meteohub to v1.8d,
I find the graphs with time resolution \"5 Minutes\" are not drawn completely and the line is broken at the time point that the upgrade is done. And no more line can be seen after that time point. However, it still receive data from the WMR100 console in the \"Sensors\" page.

There is no problem for other time resolutions like \"10 Mintues\", \"30 Minutes\", \"1 Hour\", ... etc.

Please help.

The problem is fixed itself after I force \"Aggregated Weather Data - Recompute\" in Maintenance page.

I guess the new version has some change on the computation, so re-computation may be necessary to make graphs plotted correctly.

when you install an update, a recompute is automatically initiated after reboot. Reason is that there have been Meteohub releases in the past that changed something in the computation and the update process does not analyze in detail if a recomputation is necessary when updating from version A to version B.

So just wait until recomputation is done. Then all graphs should work again.

Ooh... the problem seems not fixed really.

Some hours later, I come back to check the
graphs (those with \"5 minutes\" time resolution) under the \"Manage Graphs\" page. The line in the graph is broken at the time point that I force re-computation.

I am not sure whether there is some problem on graph refreshing module. Because I make graph refresh and upload every 5 minutes.

Please help.

I force recomputation again and wait after it is completed.

I am now doing a testing.

I choose a graph with \"5 minutes\" time resolution. For example, plotting temperature for today.

I duplicate the graph into 3 more separate graphs and set them with time resolution \"10 minutes\", \"30 minutes\" and \"1 hour\".

The 4 graphs are set to be refreshed and uploaded in every 5 minutes.

Let me see and monitor for some refreshes.

After 2-hour observation on the 4 graphs, the problem only appears on the graph with \"5 minutes\" time resolution.

5 minutes: line is broken since last forced re-computation, same problem happens on every refresh
10 minutes: OK for every refresh
30 minutes: OK for every refresh
1 hour: OK for every refresh

The testing gives me the feeling that there are two different computation modules, one is forced re-computation (large one and time-consuming) and one is quick computation used before graph refreshing (small one and take very small time to run).

There may be some mismatch for the two modules in version 1.8d when plotting graphs with 5-minute resolution. Because the problem can be fixed itself when forced recomputation is done.

The 5min issue is addressed in 1.9 and should now be solved.
