Password reset & now no access **solved**

Post by monymony »

I am setting up my new Meteobridge and reset the password from the default. I used a random generated password that contained a symbol and was set to default to 20-characters for new password (did not realize the default was set so high). When I clicked save I got a warning about HTTP only allowing alphanumeric so I tried to reset a new password without the symbol (in this case a @). What I discovered was the Meteobridge after the initial password save initiated a system reboot and now I cannot log back in. I suspect one of the following happened:

@ symbol got changed to something else
Length of the password was truncated

At this point not sure how to move forward. This is a new install so wiping and starting over is the final option but really don't want to redo all the settings again. If there are any suggestions/ideas please let me know.

Thanks!

Sounds like an overly complicated password scheme? Is this a MB or Pro? Have you checked out the "Reset Password" options? https://www.meteobridge.com/wiki/index. ... ng_Started

Well duh!

All the searching I did for Password Reset and strangely the answer was there on basically page one of the instructions. I have successfully reset things.

Yes, overly complex. Did not pay close enough attention to my password manager and what random password was being generated. 20 characters is crazy-high!

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
