SOLVED - Supported characters

Post by argonaut71 »

What characters sets Meteohub support. Is it UTF-8 compatible or something else. This came to my mind because I was trying to set Station Name to Ristinarkku - Messukylä and last character is displayed in the screen with alias ä

web interface is iso-8859-1, but can be changed to UTF-8 when a language file specifies this.

Strings to WD-Live are urlized based on the choosen character set.

I did not test with special characters. Does non of the variants work?
1) just type in the character (ä)
2) use html code (ä )
3) unicode number (&#228)

1) nope
2) nope
3) nope

Web interface translates variant 2 and 3 on the screen to ä (so after the save code is not show on the screen). In the web page ä is show as a box, variant 2 as code and number.

Next update will shift completely to UTF-8. Then there will be no more problems giving special characters to WD-Live.
