MR3020V3 mistake...WR802N future support?

Post by hbeardave »

I fell into a trap. I know that TP-Link MR3020V3 upgraded speed to 300, so I thought that the N300 designation I saw in Amazon was the right item.
Instead, what I received is TL-WR802N, which has just a single LED (no WPS button).
I haven't seen any mention of this item in the forum or hardware descriptions.
Is there any way to flash meteobridge to this router? Or future plans to port to this router?
Thanks!

can you not send it back? Amazon usually let you get a refund.

Yes, I can send it back.
I was just curious if there is any work on porting to the newer TP-Link models since the older ones are getting harder to find...and actually becoming more expensive as supply dwindles.

I'm thinking particularly of the WR802N and the WR902ACv3.

As those models don't offer any true benefits compared to MR3020v3 I am reluctant to invest time into porting.

Please understand, the more systems I port to, the more ongoing effort I have with support/maintenance. Please just invest the 30 USD to get one of the already supported ones.
