SMB stops working

This has happened to me a few times now. I install a fresh USB stick image and the SMB shares stop.

This is in the SMB log:
[2008/11/13 02:13:08, 0] smbd/server.c:main(881)
standard input is not a socket, assuming -D option
[2008/11/13 02:13:08, 0] lib/messages.c:message_init(127)
ERROR: Failed to initialise messages database

Any ideas?

no idea. Apart from that everything works ok?

I ask, because Samba operation looks rock solid on Meteohub, but can be affected by general problems with the system.
