Hi ConligWX

Yes, this is the plan :-)
Don't forget: We are only a little bit more than 20 days with V1.1 online.

Rome was not constructed in one day ;-)

We work on V1.1 and I hope, ther will be a "config-area" for the users.

Best regards, Markus

WOW weatherist34

What a wonderful support, thanks a lot!

In future, it will be possible to "kidnapping" maps completely legal ;-)

For a single user, this is actually possible, but only for his own station(s):

Yes I do understand.

another feature that MUST be allowed is the ability to hide the postal address to visitors. why would you advertise the actual house number and address to the public i'm not so sure? I personally dont give out my address to anyone. yet your site makes sure I enter the correct address when the point is used to locat the premises that the station is at, and then allows everyone to see it. This is classed as "Personal Data" under GDPR laws. I dont think this should be used.

If you use postcodes/addresses/point these should be hidden from Public view and a generalisation of the area (town) put in place. I have deleted my address and put Northern Ireland as the location, then saved it. gps co-ord's are nearly correct but I doubt all users want to advertise their full postal address to the public view or Search Engines.

just giving some feedback.

Hi ConligWX

The other question is: Why not?

Our weatherstations are not "classified secrets" - and everyone who wants, can read my adress in hundreds of onlinedirectories.
I have no problem with this.

Bu we will discuss this in team. Perhaps we make a checkbox: "Hide personal data"

Hi,
I have registered my station. The map is nice, with all the data from MeteoSuisse (opensource). That's cool !

Sure would be nice if you allowed multiple Weather Station uploads from a free account. No way I'm paying 72.00 Euros to upload my data and get pretty much nothing in return that I can't get elsewhere for free. Especially since you really don't provide anything on the maps for us US-based users.

Let me know when I can upload all of my stations for free.

More importantly, let me know when the US maps show more than the location of the weather stations...

Hi SANdood

Tell me one thing: Do you work for 0$
Not?
We also do not work for zero Dollars/Euro :-)
Programming-Work, Servercosts and a lot more things.

We offer a lot of things - started at 2$ / month.
Feel free to use our service or not. But don't say, we don't provide anything.

Multiple upload for free?
Perhaps you can do this on other services, but not at MeteoMap.cloud.
The reason: We don't want exist 5 months and then the service is closed.

Read the infosites and then you know more about our service.

Your position isn't well thought-out - you need all the (free) data you can get to make your offering have value. Your target paying customer isn't the people who would send you data, it is the much larger community of people who don't have weather stations but would like to see visualized data for their location.

Of course, you realize that I could just create a second free account to send you data from my second site. Then you'd have more data from me (for free) that you could use to improve your service and coverage. By making it difficult for users to provide you with FREE data, however, you reduce the amount of data that you can use to improve your servers.

Since you don't offer any unique benefits over other sites that allow me to send data from all of my weather stations (for free), and you clearly don't want my (free) data, I am pretty sure you won't be in business for very long. Because of this (as they say on Shark Tank) I'm out. No more free data from me from either of my weather stations.

All the best...let us know when you realize that you aren't anything without as much (free) data as you can get.

Dear SANdood

If you find a sponsor for us, who pays the costs for programming and server, support and administration for the next 10 years guaranteed, then we make tomorrow immediately "free for all" with endless many stations. :-)

Seriously:

If you had really read the information pages about MeteoMap.cloud, you would know that we do NOT sell weather data. Our site is not designed for "all" either. Because 95% of 0815 users today have their APP on their mobile phones and look at the forecasts and data for their location. That is a fact. We earn absolutely nothing from the data.

MeteoMap.cloud is a website for the users!

You don't send us your data "for free" and we do "something" with them. This is a big mistake on your part. We offer a home for your data. A ready to use station page with the graphics you wish for. Fact is that today less and less weather freaks make a web page. Maintenance, constant updates, adherence to increasing requirements and standards make it more and more difficult. The question with each station purchase is in 80'% of the cases: "How can I present and retrieve my data on the Internet as simply as possible?

This requirement led to MeteoMapo.cloud. A ready-to-use solution and a map with the station on it. Private as well as business customers appreciate this very much. We have stations at sewage treatment plants, ski resorts, small road maintenance services, communities and many others on our website. Many of them you don't see because they are hidden. I don't think these customers are wrong :-)

And something completely different: "All-for-free" that was yesterday. The growing generation of internet users has realized that nothing is free. And there you rather pay a small amount for the operators than that you are covered with felt 87 advertising blocks per website (wunderground). We also don't want to go the "american way" and grow incredibly, then sell and skim and let the customers down. Absolutely not.

Swiss precision - German quality. We still want to be on the market in 5 years. Not to get rich, but because we enjoy it and want to offer our customers continuity and security.

Perhaps you understand our philosophy better now.

Best regards

MMC

Lieber SANdood

Vielleicht verstehen Sie unere Philosophie jetzt besser.

Beste Grüsse

MMC

"MeteoMap.cloud is a website for the users!"

Like I said - I see no incremental value from your "service" verses the 17 other services that I send my (free) data to - and they give me much more reliable forecasts and graphics given their immensely larger network of data sources.

And most assuredly, nothing you offer is worth between 24 and 96 Euros a year.

And, like I said, I could easily send you my data from multiple accounts.

Therefore, seeing no value from your service, and given the difficulty in working with you, I won't send you ANY of my data.

---

By the way, I've been sending my data (from all of my stations) to WeatherUnderground for more than 10 years. They have never charged me a penny, and they gave (and still give) me free access to ALL of my data without any advertisements. And for $9.99US per year, I can now see highly localized data from IBM's The Weather Channel (owners of WeatherUnderground) that is heavily influenced by my own weather stations (because they are located where The Weather Channel doesn't have their own stations). Even the USGS uses my data in their forecasts and analysis - my stations are constantly ranked among the highest-precision Citizen Weather Observation Points in the areas they are in.

Done - there's no more value to you or me in keeping this up. I just think you make a very big mistake by not allowing anyone and everyone to send you data.
