My MB Pro seems to only want to connect to its friends via radio. The unit is currently working via wifi to the internet and picking up a console repeater signal for station data.
1) I would like to connect to the internet using the ethernet port on the back of the MB Pro, but whether I use DHCP or fixed IP I cannot get it to connect (have tried various wires and switches that work well for other devices but no luck). I should point out that this never worked quite right for me from the start, but the problem before today was that anytime I plugged a lan cable from the MB into a switch my whole network would freeze up. I never debugged this since it was a pesky problem and wifi was working so I took the easy way out and just never used a cable.
1) I would also like to be able to use the USB connection on the back of the MB Pro to connect to the USB data logger coming out of my Vantage Pro 2 Console (for inside temperature for example). However, when I connect the USB plug into the unit, the MB will no longer connect to the internet at all, neither wifi nor ethernet will work. This is a new issue it seems because I had it working via wifi and the USB data logger for some weeks until today. But today the internal SD card finally gave up the ghost with the 'disk full' problem, and after I resolved that issue temporarily I could not reconnect to the internet AT ALL until I removed the USB data logger connection. Then I was able to get wifi. As mentioned above I cannot get the LAN port to work at all. But when I plugged the USB back in again for the console I lost the wifi! And I could not get wifi back by simply rebooting the MB. I had to revert back to an initial install and re-input the wifi credentials with the MB serving as a wifi access point like when it was brand new. I have spent enough hours on this today, including a complete factory reset attempt so I am not going to fiddle with it any more for now. But why should plugging the the console via USB apparently completely corrupt the ability to make a wifi connection?
Any ideas on this? Am I doomed to not get the full data from the console via USB? Does this sound like anything that could have been affected by recent updates since at least the wifi/USB setup was working a few days ago (I probably got the latest firmware today when I rebooted in the context of the internal storage issue).
Connection challenges

Re: Connection challenges
You have to disable bridge mode on "network" tab when you connect the Meteobridge with your cabled LAN. Otherwise you generate a loop by bridging your WLAN and LAN which will block your whole LAN.
Using the USB port will not have any impact on the network operation. I think you misinterpret symptoms here.

Re: Connection challenges
Thank you for the quick response! Yes, I suspected my confusion was contributing to the problem which prompted my post. While I am generally a believer in the "if it's not broken don't fix it" school, there are specific reasons I would like a wired setup in this case even though the full wireless setup is working right now.
Test 1: Device is currently working fine using wifi and radio input from console repeater. I will uncheck 'use internal RF receiver' and the RF Module selection at the bottom of the list, then enable checkbox Davis Vantage Pro 2 via USB. Then I will plug in the USB connector from the console into the right micro-USB port on the back of the Pro unit. Reboot if needed. I will report result. If this sequence sounds incorrect please advise.
If and when Test 1 is completed and stable,
Test 2: I will check LAN box at top of Network page (Bridge checkbox, which I interpreted as enabling a passthrough of any device plugged into ethernet port directly to wireless router, has never been selected since I never had anything that I needed to use that for). Reboot; prior to initiation of startup sequence I will plug ethernet cable from LAN switch into ethernet port on Pro. Router is set for DHCP and should assign IP to Pro. Again, please advise if I misunderstand procedure and I will post result.
As any user who has worked with you already knows, you consistently provide the most responsive and expert support of any product I think I have ever owned and I greatly appreciate it (one of the reasons I am willing to spend hours trying to fix things on my own before asking you to spend time on it).
PS I have a new Nanodura stick on the way to replace the one that failed. In the meantime I am using a compatible storage stick internally in addition to a backup stick in the front USB port.
