Meteobridge starts then immediately stops **solved**
Hi all,
I have a Davis Pro 2 Wireless talking to Weather Underground via a Meteobridge. Lately, the data transfer process seems to get hung up and the quick fix is to either re-boot the Meteobridge (via my PC and the software page), reboot the PC altogether, or unplug/reboot the Meteobridge hardware.
Just recently, none of these fixes seem to help. I can re-boot the Meteobridge from my PC, causing data transfer to start and sites like Weather Underground to see the station, but then it immediately stops, and data transfer no longer occurs. I can see on Weather Underground that the site is registering, as the location appears, but since the transfer stops, no actual data appears on the WU map/location.
Does anybody know the reason that the data transfer would start and then immediately stop?
All of the station settings have remained the same and I'm still receiving the latest software upgrades from Meteobridge.
There's just some little thing that keeps the data transfer from continuing.
Any thoughts or ideas would be much appreciated!

Re: Meteobridge starts then immediately stops
This tells that the Davis USB logger cannot be reached:
logger (18.02.2020 03:56:19): can't open device /dev/ttyMH: No such file or directory
What Meteobridge HW are you using?

Thank you for the reply!
I'm using an older TL-MR3020 and I just recently re-subscribed to software upgrades.

I checked and I found that the logger output had become disconnected. Thank you!

Re: Meteobridge starts then immediately stops
Just a wild guess, but have you tried removing and reinserting the usb cable connections between your Data Logger and your Weatherbridge and rebooting your VP2 Console ?.
Re: Meteobridge starts then immediately stops
I have spent months/years pulling cables, resetting and rebooting all parts of this weather station setup!!
Let me reboot the console itself. That's something that I have never tried.
I also don't get any Davis Weatherlink information when I bring up that website. I re-installed that software (Weatherlink 6.0.5), hoping for some change, but nothing.
The latest from my Meteobridge messages:
logger (29.02.2020 09:39:41): data logger stopped.

Re: Meteobridge starts then immediately stops
As you use a MR3020 v1 you need a USB hub to connect your station via USB.
Your error "/dev/ttyMH" missing is a clear indicator that the USB driver drops out.
A passive USB 2.0 hub will fix this.
BTW: The wiki tells you, the web interface should as well... so no surprise at all.

Re: Meteobridge starts then immediately stops **solved**
I'm using a passive USB hub and have been doing so for several years with this setup. This problem has been a recent one, with no change to my hardware.
Are you saying that the USB hub has failed and I need a new one? I guess their cheap enough to replace, but that seems odd.
Please let me know and thanks!

Re: Meteobridge starts then immediately stops **solved**
The information you posted says that you are not using a USB hub.
When it tells "no USB hub" but you have one connected I would assume it is defective.System

Re: Meteobridge starts then immediately stops **solved**
I believe the No USB hub response that was posted was received before before the poster discovered that his data logger had become disconnected.
