What do I do now? ** solved **

Post by captgadget »

After all these years I finally got my webcam connected on the Meteobridge lite. Now, what can I do with it now that I got it? I already have it set up on WU through WU.

You can upload it to Meteobridge.com via the Weather Network tab and configuring Meteobridge Weather Camera. Then you can supply the resulting URL at Meteobridge.com (with or without overlay text) to other weather services....WeahterClould, AWEKAS, Windy....etc, or to your own personal website. Or you can also configure an FTP service to the very same sites. This gives you the option of having URL or FTP webcam options.

Okay, I get myself into the biggest pickles. Using the Weather Network tab I got it to send to Meteobridge Weather Camera. You say the resulting URL at Meteobridge.com, but how do I find that? galfert you must be everywhere! You've come to my aid on WXforum.net many times.

Click on the camera icons to get either the text overlay URL or the image only URL.

What do you see when you look at the Weather Station / Weather Cam tab?
Does it have a green check mark showing that it properly is acquiring your camera still?

Think I just discovered my problem. Today FTP/STP says it failed so I don't have something right. Sorry for all the bother. Don't know why the other day it said it was good.

Yep you are going about it wrong. You can delete the FTP event 1 you have created. That isn't helping. You can also delete the FTP/SFTP service.

What you need to do is configure the Weather Cam External picture URL.
Depending on which brand and model webcam you have will determine how this URL is constructed to have the Meteobridge acquire the image. If you tell me what brand/model I may be able to find out the proper construct.

Okay. Then you are going to need the following URL to have the Meteobridge pull the image from the Foscam camera.

Enter this into the Meteobridge Weather cam External Picture URL:

Code: Select all

http://192.168.x.x:88/cgi-bin/CGIProxy.fcgi?cmd=snapPicture2
192.168.x.x refers to your camera's IP address. The :88 corresponds to the port you set if different than 80.

Full Foscam CGI documentation where I pulled this information from. You should save this for future reference:

I have saved the pdf and have entered the URL with no errors. Now is there something else I need to do?
