Meteobridge Pro FTP fails

Post by nickg »

Metrobridge Pro Red (v.5.0 build 14027)
FTP Server: Ubuntu 20.04 Server running vsftpd server
Problem: Error: FTP test upload failed: ncftpput /test-upload: server said: Could not create file

FtP test is failing with a new server I am setting up, I am pretty convinced the FTP server is configured correctly as I can log into and transfer files to the FTP destination from a linux machine on the same subnet as the Meteobridge and FTP Server.

If I ssh onto the Meteobridge Pro and try the NCFTPPUT command it fails - there seems to be some compatibility issue here - NCFTPPUT version is dated January 2011!

Any ideas on what the issue is and how I might fix it?

Many thanks,
nickg

Have now tried switching to SFTP.

Again - it works from a linux machine sitting next to the Meteobridge Pro but get the error: Error: SFTP test upload failed: Couldn't read packet: Connection reset by peer when testing on the Meteobridge 'Service Settings' page.

Any help gratefully received!

Another update:

If I ssh onto the Meteobridge and try SFTP command to the server it replies:

"Connection to xyz@xyz exited: no matching algo kex: Couldn't read packet: Connection reset by peer"

A bit of googling tells me this is because the key algorithms supported by v5.0 of the Meteobridge Pro software are no longer supported by newer ftp servers - the version on the Meteobridge is dated January 2011.

Trying to find a work around at the server end
