Request for Wx Tx monitoring

Post by jasonmfarrow »

Hi Admin,

Is it possible to have some kind of monitoring/alert (Email/SMS/PushOver/IFTT/etc.) that can notify when data uploads to services are not working or are too old?

I recently lost data. It was three hours before one of the service (AWEKAS and WxCloud) sent me an email. The NanoSD was still alive, although rather poorly, and had clearly stopped all upload services for reasons yet to be determined but had listed the data in the logger.

If there are fatal errors in the meteobridge processing then some kind of alert (perhaps tripped on a recurrence or duration of a fault) that can inform us that there's a problem that needs fixing would be most useful.
Regards
Jason

The Meteobridge has this capability built in. You just need to know how to construct the notification event...

As you can see it is my #1 defined event.

Hi Galfert,

I read here (https://www.meteobridge.com/wiki/index.php/Templates) that this is referencing the reception of last good sensor data. I think this is not my solution for two reasons: 1) lastgooddata does not seem to distinguish between multiple sensors and 2) it was a secondary sensor that messed things up (some unidentified problem talking to a working airlink). I had no outbound data. The main sensor (Davis Vue ISS) was still working and sending data to my NanoSD and so would not have tripped the event/alarm as you describe it.

I need something that tells me a particular (or all) weather network(s) are failing or have stale data. I have all my 12 weather networks uploading every 10-mins except Home Weather Station-Weather34 (every 1-min) and Meteobridge Weather Camera (every 5-mins).

E.g. If last upload success for Wunderground was 20-min ago then I want to trigger an alert by email/sms/etc.
