Problem with Meteobridge PRO device

Post by livadea »

Hi

Setup:
I am running two Meteobridge devices on my Davis Vantage Vue station.
One is based on TL-MR3020 and it is connected via WeatherLinkIP.
The other one is Meteobridge PRO and it is connected directly to the ISS.
The PRO device located close to the Vantage Vue console.
Both of them are running the latest software version, Meteobridge 5.1.

Problem:
For some time I am facing problems retrieving data with the PRO device.
After a reboot, everything is going well till falls again and this starts to be more often.
I attach some snapshots.

Thank you in advance for your help!

What is the distance between the Vue ISS and Vue console? Those reception values tends to indicate the distance is a little far for the MBPro's RF reception with standard antenna.

The problem is the newly released 5.1 version. Revert back to version 5.0. Unfortunately for me my MB RPI is stuck on 5.1. I've let Boris know.

EDIT: I'm stuck on 5.1 because of selective beta firmware program. Therefore this should not reflect on other RPI users.

Hi
On both devices is the latest software version, I rebooted them in 2021.
The distance is not a problem, less than 5-6m and worked without any problems for a couple of years.

Hi!
After the latest reboots, it seems that not even the sensors are seen.
Can be concluded that I face a hardware problem?
Thank you!

There was a bug on the December 2 release that blocked reception of any data (not specific to MB PRO). This has been fixed.

Coming back to your RF reception problem. There must be something wrong when Meteobridge shows a signal level of -90db when sensors are just a few meters away unless the distance is blocked by concrete etc.
Did you check antennas? Having sensors in line of sight of 5 meters I would expect signal strengths in the -30 to -40db.
