4.1 Barometer settings

Post by AAMFlyer »

I noticed the new settings available for the Barometer when I upgraded from 3.3 to 4.1. I first started with Elevation and Temperature calc but found that to be substantially off the mark when calibrated with other local stations and the NWS stations in the area. I switched back to elevation only and that brought it right back in line with other stations in the area and my older readings prior to updating....

Just a comment to share with everyone as I thought the Temp/elevation calcs would be more accurate but not in this case.....plus I'm in Colorado and mile above sea level...

I will check the temp+altitude formula, as this is expected to give slightly better results than pure altitude - not worse.

Okay. As an example when I changed over to V4.1 - my barometer was running about 29.9 and most of the local stations including the new channels and weather service were in the same range - 29.8 to about 30.0.

When I upgraded to 4.1 - it dropped to 29.1 when all the others were still around 29.9 - I changed back to elevation mode only and it went straight to 29.88..... Hopefully this will help and I'm also at 5600' elevation....
