Wrong Barometer Data To WeatherCloud

Post by mrinker »

I am using a Weatherflow Tempest Station with Meteobridge TPLink 3020 v1.4 running the current firmware 5.1 June 13 2021. I have meteobridge uploading data to WeatherCloud but they do not display my barometric pressure because it’s being sent as station pressure 24.xx instead of Altimeter 29.xx. I cannot find anything to correct this so that all my data is displayed on Weathercloud. Temperature etc is fine, just need a solution to the barometric pressure data being transmitted.

Weathercloud gets sealevel pressure data from Meteobridge. I can't remember them asking for altimeter. Where does it say so?

Is the altitude setting of your Meteobridge ok? That would perfectly explain wrong pressure numbers.

I was not sure off hand if it was sealevel or altimeter pressure that WeatherCloud wanted. In either case, mine keeps sending the station pressure which is currently 24.73 and therefore WeatherCloud is not displaying it. When I log into meteobridge it shows Raw Data 1022.2hPa and 30.18inHg which is a correct reading and would be fine if that data was sent. But for some reason both WeatherCloud and also Weather Display when I open that program, receives the 24.73 station pressure also.

yes the setup for altitude and height are correct. The Tempest Hub uses all 3 pressures ( Station, Altimeter, and Sealevel ). All pressure readings are accurate. I just need to figure out how to get meteobridge to stop sending station pressure of 24.xx and instead send Sealevel to the cloud services. The temporary solution I have been using is to increase the data meteobridge receives for station pressure by 5.11 so it matches the Sealevel and then WeatherCloud accepts it.

Meteobridge does show two pressure values on "Raw Data" tab. One is station pressure, other is sealevel. What does your Meteobridge display here? Are they displayed as the same?

As of yesterday I took down the Tempest and returned it. I replaced it with an Ambient Weather WS-5000 and WiFi hub. This unit is working well with the meteobridge device and data is correct now. The Tempest device is simply not user friendly when it comes to needing specific data. Anyway, my issue is finally resolved after switching brands of PWS. Thanks for trying to help me troubleshoot the original issue.
