Lesson learned

Post by kd7eir »

I have FOSHK feeding one website, MB feeding another, and Ecowitt feeding Ecowitt.net. All of this comes from one GW1000, so the data is the same.

FOSHK rain fall = .48", Ecowitt rain fall = .48", MB rain fall = 0.00"

The rain rate is 2.91"/hr (seriously!) MB does show that correctly, but it still shows 0.00" for rain fall.

I learned my lesson. FOSHK is the absolute champion and FREE. MB is the absolute gutter and COSTS $76!

The only thing FOSHK does not do for me that MB does is APRS/CWOP, and that is 100% NOT a deal breaker. At least now I have an extra Pi4 available for use by something that works.

Does Meteobridge show the proper rainfall values in the Min/Max view ?

Did you choose the proper selector to copy/post your rain data to your other site ?
(you may need to build your own http request as an event)

I think it's only a matter of choosing the right selector as my MB delivers all (not only) rain data properly to e.g. my Weather34 templates, Meteotemplate etc. and weather networks like AWEKAS, PWSweather, ...)

things will never get resolved with this brand ecowitt and I hope Boris quite rightly concentrates on development of other stuff because this guy is a certified inept troll ..totally unwarranted .. how the hell can you resolve issues with this inept style..

Certainly does sound like you have much to learn! If you require some help in configuring and setting things up then many here will be able to help you out, you just have to ask.

@kd7eir
if your API string for your web site (I suspect it's Meteotemplate) contains the selectors
R=[rain0total-daysum:--]&RR=[rain0rate-lastval:1], you should get the proper results.

(Provided MB showss the values in the Min/Max views in the first place - the raw sensor data only show the rain rate in MB )

@Gyvate: Thanks for being constructive on the topic. I just made some fixing on the WH57 code, hopefully not for the worse.

@kd7eir: looking at the insults you fire against Meteobridge, Ambient, Netamo in wxforum.net I think there might be another main lesson on manners still to learn. If you are totally unhappy with Meteobridge and see it as "gutter", drop me a PM to have your purchase refunded.
