Weatherflow Tempest issue
This morning the remnants of a tropical storm passed through my area. My Weatherflow Tempest measured 2.21" of rain. However Meteobridge is only displaying 1.71". What would be causing the .5" difference?

What is the history then? Is this a new system? If not has this occurred previously or just this time? If an existing system has anything been changed/updated/modified prior to this particular event? Where are you seeing the 1.71" compared to the 2.21"? More info

hi you need to eliminate the rain check feature or as I call it the fudge , this manipulates your data from a crowd source .this may also occur with lightning as that data is also crowd sourced . its no secret the data you may see it not what the hardware is measuring. that said easiest way is to monitor is watch it realtime and right down the data total value for day and then check next morning to see the figures you wrote down match what is now being reported. i recall you can disable the rain check feature in the app settings.
if rain check is already disabled then check timezone settings match on both systems tempest, meteobridge if the anomaly appears at the rollover point of end of day to new day.
lastly check metric settings i.e mm or inches .
spent years testing this hardware started way back in 2017 the rain check feature added was an awful option as it highlighted the fundamental flaw in the haptic rain sensor technology and it was not dealt with just merely fudged with a crowd sourced figure . which i still do not trust or would have a product that uses this technology its only primary advantage is it detects when rain starts for smart home applications like sprinklers etc but the way it handles accumulation is not good and i dont see much improvement in terms of how it handles rain over the years. there are 2 tempest units installed here in istanbul both have a tough time with rain accumulation without raincheck because its not a function available outside of the USA .
sorry to sound negative but weatherflow products and rain are not good or reliable there is an element of luck.
that said other areas of the product have been vastly improved especially temperature ,humidity.
