Davis Vantage console battery level

I was having a problem with my nano shutting down at odd times. I discovered that with the battery low, but not depleted, the Vantage console would keep running when unplugged from external power, but the nano would shut down. Solution - change the batteries!

Internal batteries should really only be a stop gap in times of intermittent and short power outages. Depending on the Nano model, Black or Red strap will also denote what capacity the plug pack needs to be, Red strap should use at least a 1amp pack as the standard 300ma Davis pack is not big enough.

Solution - Best solution is to power the rig from an external battery pack and smart charger, either 6v or 12v with 12/5V converter.
