SlugOsBE 4.8 Beta, compatibility to Meteohub

Post by rudi48 »

Hello,
I have seen, that on 2007-12-30 a new release of SlugOsBE 4.8 Beta was published. See:
http://www.nslu2-linux.org/wiki/SlugOS/ChangeLog4x8

My question is, if it is still compatible to Meteohub V1.7?

Greeting, Rudi

Meteohub is the combination of SlugOS, a stack of opensource applications and a stack of self written applications. All these have to work together.

Of course I will experiment how to adapt to 4.8, but not with high priority. At the moment 3.10 beta does what the meteohub applications need from the os.

If it is a big thing to migrate to 4.8, is hard to say at the moment.

Thank you for the quick answer.
I am evaluating at the moment a NSLU2 box with uNSLUng 6.8 beta. Because I do not like to always switch mentally between a 2.4 and a 2.6 environment (command line), I want to use a 2.6 kernel on the NSLU2 box. However, up to now (google search) no web GUI for the NET parameters was available (like Linksys has). By google search I just found your meteohub application with a very nice web GUI, which I like to use. Because I know how much work it is to change the firmware afterwards, I like to start with the newest firmware SlugOsBE 4.8 (OpenSSH). Therefore the question.
Greetings, Rudi

Meteohub version 2.1 is now based on SlugOS 4.8 and makes use of the benefits of kernel 2.6.21.
