Greetings All,
I recently had a power failure and the nslu2 will not reboot. I've tried unplugging, replugging in all gear peripherals. I tested the power supply and have 5.4VDC no problem. No lights when I press power...I can feel the `click' when I press/depress the button, no luck. No LEDs light, not signs of life at all. Tried reset, etc...nothing. Any ideas? I was running 2.0d.

solved...had to hold power button for 60 seconds and now it all works...strange, but glad.

One of my NSLU2 also has a bit of trouble with the power on button. Pressing from various directions did help. Looks like the switch behind the button is not a high quality one. All the other NSLU work fine...
However, I am glad your is working again.

Its funny you mention that pressing the button from different angles worked for you in the past. That's the same issue I had with this nslug when I opened this new nslug I got from amazon.com. I had to shake it a few times to get it to work. This time I took the unit apart and was pressing the button with a small screwdriver to no avail. Pressing and holding was all it took...hopefully that is the solution for this box.
On a related note, I did see some hardware hacks (soldering) that power on the device when plugged in so if you loose power, when the power restores, the nslug boots automatically (like a wrt54g for instance).

yes, these might be solutions to let the unit recover from power outage. But I think it is more for the brave and I don't recommend that for the broader public.
If the soldering iron is your friend... give it a try. :cheer:
May be you are lucky and the usb adapter modification does the trick for your unit. behavior seems to vary between units.

My slug showed similar problems when new. The power button was mainly sticking in \"pressed\" position and it did not release.
I opened the case (good help: http://www.rwhitby.net) and cut the opening of the power button a little bit bigger - perfect solution....
