Error from System-Log: NANO not properly powered for WiFi

I've recently started getting this displayed in red at the top of my Meteobridge config screens:

"Error from System-Log: Meteobridge NANO not properly powered for WiFi operation. Please use 1A rated power supply and/or add batteries to Davis console"

Vantage Pro 2 Plus console with Meteobridge NANO SD installed and using the supplied Davis power supply. The power supply is rated for output of 5V, 0.3A. So I ordered the USB power cable and have tried numerous USB power supplies all rated at above 1.0A output and the error persists.

It doesn't seem to actually affect anything as it still connects to WiFi and seems to operate as expected whether utilizing the Davis supplied power supply or the USB power supplies.

How do I get rid of this error?

The standard Davis 0.3A adapter is an issue with the Nano. Instead of a standard USB power adapter I would be using a 1A switched power adapter?

The message is based on certain kernel log messages that according to research in the Internet point to an underpowered WLAN. In latest Meteobridge release I have made this transparent by a warning in the Meteobridge log. To my experience operation is still fine, but WLAN might ask for some retries here and there.

I am still unsure if it is making sense to show that in the log. My intention was that it might motivate users to improve their power supply and by that to give the NANO a more stable power base. If you can't solve that by ramping up to a 1A supply, the message does no give you much help I have to admit. How strong is the WiFi signal you are working with (Network tab, SSID drop-down tells this)?

It is showing 76% and 100% in the WiFi drop down for the connected SSID. It is showing two instances of my SSID - which I assume is because it is a mesh system and those are the two nodes? I have checked the logs of the router and it is sometimes connected to the mesh node and sometimes connected to the main router (the router is in control of steering).

Nothing particular, mainly because we may be countries well apart and in any case I typically run from a 12 or 24 volt battery source using DC/DC converters

Running build 4328 it seems the warning is gone for me. Did you remove it?

Hi Mike,

Do you have new batteries in the Davis Console?

The batteries are a very cheap way of absorbing large pulses of current which may be being drawn by the NANO WiFi which are probably dropping the power supply voltage just enough ( during the current transients ) to cause the alarm.

As these transients are very small you should find that good quality batteries will last for many years as the power adapter prevents them from being drained significantly. As the extra current should be small, lithium batteries which have a long shelf life may be a good choice....

It is a quick and easy way of testing if it's a power supply capacity issue.

I have the same red warning message:
Fehler im Systemprotokoll: Meteobridge NANO not properly powered for WiFi operation. Please use 1A rated power supply and/or add batteries to Davis console
with following FW release of the NANo SD: Meteobridge 5.5 (Oct 3 2022, build 4326), FW 1.4

I have batteries in the console (Vantage Pro2) which are not recognized from the console as "low" and I have connected a 1A power supply instead of the original 0,3A which comes with the console.

My question, is the warning implemented correctly as I understand that it should not appear with either batteries or 1A power supply?
Signal strength is displayed 37%

I will check with new batteries but it looks, that 1A power supply does not help to avoid this issue....

Update:
also with fresh batteries the warning is displayed
I checked again the power supply - it is not 1A instead 5V/3A

Anybody with similat experiences?
