Transferring Data form Weather display to Meteobridge ** Solved **

Post by MGS »

Hi,

I am a new user of Meteobridge and am just setting up my MB alongside Weather Display all going well so far and I am impressed with the ease to get up and running with the Weather34 aurora MKII template http://harpendenweatherstation.co.uk quite basic at the moment.

The big question I have now is how do I migrate my old Weather Display Data?

Any help would be much appreciated!

Thanks in advance

Regards

hello welcome to the 21st century (humor :D )

if it is about migrating the data from WD to use in weather34 then let me know I can easily convert exported data going back to 2018 ,*note weather34 doesn't support prior to 2018 without some tedious compiling for each year prior to 2018. however if its about migrating the data into Meteobridge itself then Im sure Boris would be able to help .

have a good weekend..Brian

Hi Brian,

Thanks for the offer, I naively I thought if it went in to Meteobridge it would flow through to Weather34 if this is not the case I would love to get as much historical data in to Weather34 as I can

What do you need from me to be able to convert the data. I can zip up the data files or if there is a better way just let me know what works for you 😀

Thanks again for the offer!

I would also like to get the Historic Weather Display data in to Meteobridge as well any help with this would be great. I can see there are various import options but am unsure if the Weather Display files are in the correct format for some of the template imports available.

Any guidance or help would be useful :-)

good morning

contact Boris for weather display data to Meteobridge , unfortunately I have zero experience of WD but if you can get that data to Meteobridge then export the required data for the weather34 charts will be very easy pretty much a couple of clicks then double check locally for alignment and job done .

alternatively export the data from WD to a local csv is the other way which you can send me those files preferably CSV format or basic text file with commas separating the values.

Hi Brian,

Thanks for your reply

I am making progress on importing WD data in to Meteobridge I have found a conversion program to convert WD data in to legacy Cumulus 1 data format, although the timestamp is in the wrong format for meteobridge import, so with a little bit of manipulation in excel and a handy macro to output in the data in Quoted CSV format files, I can now import data in to Meteobridge. Just need to be careful to specify the correct units on the conversion program so that the imported data makes sense and is showing the correct values in Meteobridge.

For future reference the Conversion program can be found here https://www.cumuluswiki.org/a/File:WDconverter.zip

Once I have finished importing in to Meteobridge I will get back in contact re the export and import in to Weather34 :-)

Thanks again

I have been using weather display since about 2003 and have continuous data since then. I would like to import the last 2 years into the Meteobridge Nano sd. I downloaded the WDconverter.exe. While converting the WD log file it shows the conversion proceeding but no converting file appears. I tried with several windows versions. Any suggestions?

Hi,

Not sure why it is not working for you, worked on Windows 10 and 11 for me.

Does the conversion complete?

If it does and you are say converting 22023lg.txt for instance, the converter creates a file called Feb23log.txt, do a search on your PC for the corresponding file in the format mmmyylog.txt where mmm is month and yy is the two digit year.

For me the converted file was placed in a sub directory called "Converted" off the directory in which the WDconverter.exe resides in. Hope that makes sense.

If you want and you are happy to send me the last 2 year's files I can convert them for you and send them back to you when I have done so. You just need to let me know what units you use as Source and for the target values as per the WDConverter.exe initial panel.

regards

Mark.

I created the folder "Converted" manually and after clicking save the converted files showed up in that folder. For some reason the folder wasn't being created automatically. I would really appreciate it if you could correct the converted files for the last 4 months. How can I send them to you?
