Twitter: Upload Error?

Post by cphMichael »

I have been uploading to Twitter for a long time, but suddenly I get this error:

Twitter Upload:
Error: 2023-07-19 18:06:34 sh: closing paren expected sh: closing paren expected sh: closing paren expected sh: closing paren expected error ("You currently have access to a subset of Twitter API v2 endpoints and limited v1.1 endpoints (e.g. media post): https (no more tries)

In the Service Settings > Twitter, there is a green tick before the “Authentication: done”

Has something changed to Twitter or has it something to do with my Twitter account?

Platform: Meteobridge PRO
SW Version: Meteobridge 5.6 (Jul 2 2023, build 14995), FW 1.4

- - - - - - - - -

I rebooted the Meteobridge, and got this error:
Error: Twitter feed of Meteobridge not yet authorized

I requested a PIN and got this error:
Error: Twitter authentication failed: error: cannot get request token

I did the Request PIN again, and this time I could do the Authentication:
Twitter update service sucessfully installed!

But still same Twitter upload error:
2023-07-19 19:19:07 Error: 2023-07-19 19:19:05 sh: closing paren expected sh: closing paren expected sh: closing paren expected sh: closing paren expected error ("You currently have access to a subset of Twitter API v2 endpoints and limited v1.1 endpoints (e.g. media post): https (no more tries)

Michael

In the dokumentation for Twitter api, is says that you can send 1500 Tweets for free every month.

I'm sending 1 Tweet every hour, so I'm sending 24 x 30 = 720, Tweets every month - but still I'm banded for exceeding the limits.

Is it so, that all the Meteobridge PRO uses the same ID - and therefore Tweeter adds all the Tweets from all the Meteobridge PRO together as one - and therefore we together exceeds the limit?

I noticed that my hourly Twitter updates had stopped on 18th July after probably at least 10 years updating from WD and more recently MB Pro.

I decided to do a reboot of my Red MB Pro which had been set to update the latest version. Looking at the blue screens of MB it was obvious that something had gone wrong as I spotted the Black Image of MB Pro2. There were errors regarding disc space and lots of chart files were missing. WHy would this have happened? Did I do anything wrong? I know that MB Pro is now EOL and we are perhaps being tempted to upgrade. Anywy after a good couple of hours I am back on by selecting keep v 5.4. OK, no Twitter feed so I assume that was something to do with Twitter being X-ed! I will reboot MB Pro with caution from now on.

No worries, your MB Pro will be supported in parallel to PRO2 and will still receive upgrades.
When you send remote login credentials and an error description to "info(at)meteobridge.com" I will have a look.

Twitter cancelled the API used by Meteobridge and by that Meteobridge can no longer send data to Twitter aka X.
Therefore, I removed the twitter option from the Meteobridge 5.7. My general plan is not to remove functions, but here I had no choice.
