Twitter upload issue

Post by GuisboroughWx »

Evening, on Tuesday 18 July 2023 my Meteobridge Bridge Pro sent its last tweet. On further investigation albeit 24 hours later I find the following error message -

2023-07-19 21:04:49 Error: 2023-07-19 21:04:47 error ("You currently have access to a subset of Twitter API v2 endpoints and limited v1.1 endpoints (e.g. media post): https (no more tries)

Is this a Twitter generated issue or has there been a meteobridge software / firmware upgrade which may have brought about this problem. I have rebooted my device twice and the issue remain.

Thanking you in anticipation, Paul H @GuisboroughWx

After investing further at https://twittercommunity.com it looks like the issue ' You currently have access to a subset of Twitter API v2 endpoints and limited v1.1 endpoints' looks like it can only be resolved by accessing the Meteobridge O/S.

The Application Programme Interface (API) connection need to be changed to v2 and change the endpoint for posting tweets.

Any assistance in this matter would be great. Best Regards Paul H @ GuisboroughWx

Looks like twitter finally did shut down the way Meteobridge accesses the network.
I don't have a solution, I think I will have to remove it from the feature list.

I have noticed other PWS that posted observations via twitter have also gone offline. It was an excellent delivery tool for transmitting real-time local weather data out to those who wanted to see it. Unfortunately Twitter thinks otherwise.

Yes a lot have dropped out, i hope the developers at meteobridge can alter the coding so we can start posting again or give us and alternative.

Ever since mr musk has taking over twitter it has degraded badly and now he's wanting over £100 a year for a basic account.

Thank you

Hello,

There is in your account on Twitter an extra option for using automated tweets. They wanna know who’s behind the automated tweets as organization. I think that has to do with all kind of bots and other automated garbage. There is an article on Twitter Help: https://help.twitter.com/en/using-twitt ... unt-labels that gives more clearance. As I read it in the Dutch version of Twitter Help, there has to be a owner of the automated tweets, like Meteobridge for example, and then you can connect your personal account to that owner and so everyone knows its automated and by who.
What I don’t know, is the ownership of this upper-account for free, or must Meteobridge pay for that. But maybe something for admin to find out.

Maybe you readers already know this, but yesterday my hourly Twitter feeds stopped, so I tried to find a solution and most off all, why on earth stopped Twitter this kind of useful information about the weather. To charge money for that information is ridiculous, because we all get the weather for free on a hourly basis :D

I have had the same problem since 19 July and have not been able to get it to work again.
I have set up the administration account required by Twitter since recently and it also appears in the profile "automated by xxx".
The error message in MB remains and no tweets are sent.
It's a great pity.
