I would like a add a wish list for CWOP data.
1) Add option for selecting to average the wind direction and the time to be averaged. I think most CWOP reporting stations including my station are not located in an open area like the ASOS stations at the airports. The obstacles cause turbulent air flow which varies the wind direction quite a bit. When using a 2 minute average for testing on a graph I noticed the direction fluctuation was reduced. Using a 2 minute average the wind direction varied from NNW to NNE from a north wind. Without averaging the wind direction varied from west to east from a north wind. Big improvement with 2 minute averaging.
2) Add option for wind speed average and time to be averaged.
3) Add optional server list the user can enter for sending CWOP reports. For over a year now cwop.aprs.net has returned a dead server. 129.15.108.116. Maybe its not maintained anymore.
4) Add a logical point for CWOP altimeter pressure that we can map.
