Hi
I have a WMR200 and use Meteohub on an NSLU.
Currently the data is shared with Weather Underground every 30 mins but I cannot work out how much data is actually being transfered through my broadband link.
I would like to use the wunderground rapidfire service with as small a time gap as possible but nobody can tell me how this will affect my bandwidth.
In the UK the upload speeds on broadband are pretty poor at about 256k where as my download is 8mg.
I also use weather display live but I presume that bandwidth is only used for this as and when someone actually logs on to my wd-live page.
Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Try DU meter, evaluation version here http://www.dumeter.com/
With DU meter you can see the band with use of your computer

Checking the remote....

Assuming that your WDL website is hosted somewhere, then Meteohub will be uploading files regularly to that host regardless of whether or not anyone is "looking". See the Graph Uploads section of Meteohub for the timings.PUMPHOUSE wrote:I also use weather display live but I presume that bandwidth is only used for this as and when someone actually logs on to my wd-live page.
(Still assuming a hosted site), When someone looks at your hosted site, WDL is using the files that have been uploaded to the host, as above.
i.e. WDL isn't looking directly at own computer so people looking at WDL on the hosted site doesn't directly involve your own Broadband connection.
Does that make sense?
Re:Data/Bandwidth Usage
vnstat is command-line tool that easliy showed the network traffic info, but I don´t know, if Boris might want to add it?

Maybe with the new system data feature it could be provide useful information for some users.

Re:Data/Bandwidth Usage
Thank you for your replies. I have just got an answer from Weather Underground
Hello,
The bandwidth is negligible for data uploads; 300 bytes for each data point. When rapidfire is enabled, the software sends the data continuously every 2.5 seconds or so.
Thank you for your support!
