Hello, I was wondering if somebody could offer me some help. I'm currently using a Oregon Scientific unit with my NSLU2 that connects directly USB to USB. I'm looking at moving to a Vantage 2 (6512) and I'm really confused on how the Vantage will interface with my NSLU2. The documentation seems really weak, so I figured this would be the place to come. Can somebody explain to me how this works or if I'd have to buy additional hardware to interface a 6512 to my NSLU2.
Thanks!

you need this to connect the VP2 with your NSLU2 USB port:
WeatherLink® for Vantage Pro2™, Windows, USB
some folks here recommend using the serial port version of above product and using a USB to serial converter (FTDI-version) for problemfree communication between the VP2 and the meteohub server.
I was using the USB version with my old NSLU2 (now retired) and a VP2 and never so any problems ...

Thanks! That's what I was afraid of (spending another $150). Thanks again!

Depending on the vendor you purchase from, some will include the data logger (either USB or Serial) as part of the initial package. I agree that the Davis website is atrocious and looks to have been designed for Netscape 2 back in 1996, but the third-party sites are a lot more coherent.
I purchased my kit from AmbientWeather (located in California.) They do a better job of explaining just what's in the kit and what add-ons are available, and they tend to be a bit cheaper than the MSRP at the Davis site. For instance, thy've got the USB data logger for $120. Still not cheap, but certainly a better deal than going through Davis!
