It is useful for comparison if you also mention the version of Meteohub, the computer hardware (e.g. NSLU2, 266MHz) and details of the storage medium (e.g. 4GB USB Stick, and the brand).

7029 records per second sure is a bit faster that the 264 reported earlier on your NSLU2. :cheer:

I don't recall exactly but it could well be the fasted reported to date, except maybe the VMware Player version running on a full size box?

very sorry to tell you ... my "old-man" meteohub has below performance of re-computation.

Linux Kernel: 2.6.21.7 132 BogoMIPS, 30 MB RAM, NSLU2 (133 MHz)
MeteoHub: Version 4.3

from version 3.3b to 3.3c:

wmr928fulleval(01.05.2009 09:15:01): recomputation of weather data started.
wmr928fulleval(01.05.2009 13:08:42): recomputation of weather data finished: 2520074 records processed in 13998 seconds (180 records per second)

from version 3.3c to 4.3:

wmr928fulleval(16.05.2009 09:30:02): recomputation of weather data started.
wmr928fulleval(16.05.2009 22:47:46): recomputation of weather data finished: 2843488 records processed in 47835 seconds (59 records per second)
wmr928fulleval(16.05.2009 22:50:01): recomputation of weather data started.
wmr928fulleval(17.05.2009 06:02:58): recomputation of weather data finished: 2849937 records processed in 25926 seconds (109 records per second)

Ah. 133MHz. :(
Presumably from before they doubled the clock speed to 266 MHz...

All you need is a pair of tweezers and any 133 MHz NSLU2 can be converted to a 266 MHz system -- the only difference between the old systems and the newer ones was a resistor was removed. (see here and scroll down to "Procedure #1" about a third of the way down the page.)

It took me about ten minutes to update mine, and most of that time was figuring out how to pop open the case.

Take a look in Logs => meteohub log.

Each time your Meteohub completes a full recomputation it places an entry in that log stating the number of records processed, the total time in seconds and the records per second.

In the LOG are different results: from 135 to 376 records per second
Nslu2 266,
4GB Usb Kingston Datatraveller Hyper X,
V.4.3

Just for comparison a SheevaPlug with Meteohub equipped with a high speed SD card (4GB SanDisk extreme III, one of the fastest you can actually get) makes over 1100 records per second. So this clearly outperforms a NSLU2 and even ebox-2300 and ebox-3300. This tiny plug seems to be quite capable :)

wmr928fulleval(05.07.2009 17:15:01): recomputation of weather data started.
wmr928fulleval(05.07.2009 17:15:16): recomputation of weather data finished: 17844 records processed in 15 seconds (1189 records per second)
