Hi everybody,
My provider will soon not allow unencrypted FTP anymore. For SFTP, they require the purchase of domain-wide SSH certificates, which I currently do not pay for. My FTP program that uses Explicit FTP over TLS (FTPES) still connects, but this mode seems not to be supported by the MeteoBridge. Can I do anything else, or will I need to buy the SSH certificate?
Thanks in advance, Tom

Re: Connection via Explicit FTP over TLS (FTPES)
Sorry, Meteobridge does not support FTPS. The mandatory ssh certificate issue concerns me a bit as Meteobridge will not authenticate via certificates but via user name/password. Please check this with your awkward provider before paying money for a useless certificate.
BTW: Cant you login to your server via SSH by user name / password? SFTP uses the same method of access.

Re: Connection via Explicit FTP over TLS (FTPES)
Thanks. I changed my hosting package and got one domain SSH certificate included and the connection via sFTP to the meteobridge works. Only thing since all HTTP traffic on my site is now redirected to HTTPS, I get this message about the HTTP upload for the crown server: https://xxxxxxxx/pwsWD/PWS_cron_stationcron.php: HTTPS support not compiled in - but it still seems to work - Green Checkmark.
Re: Connection via Explicit FTP over TLS (FTPES)
Hoped to find a solution here because ssh access would mean a switch to an even more expensive hosting package which I definitely won't do as a thanks for denying ftp connections as before.
Since the ftp connections fail all my data to wetter.com and wunderground is logged with -90 min offset while the routers internal clock is still correct. Strange.
