Meteobridge erased itself. **solved**

Post by twassmer »

Happened to me today. Unfortunately, I did not save the configuration as I did not read that this could happen before today. Any suggestions before I have to recreate the wheel: weather network uploads, camera setup with overlay, server HTTP and sFTP uploads for PWS Desktop - this is a big disappointment and probably days of work if I even ever get it back!
Is this stored on the server?
Also, where is the documentation about the reset button? I probably cased this by pressing this button too long or repeatedly as I did not see any documentation and neither reboot through the meteobridge interface nor unplugging, waiting, and plug back in would restart the data upload after the daily loss of connection. Today holding the reset button also did not work to restart the network connection - so I pressed probably too long or too often. It finally restarted the connection BUT now all configuration is lost.
Where is the documentation of the reset button and also on how to save and restore the configuration???

Thanks, Tom

It's pretty much a given that configuration/backup etc is basic data management and practice with any system.

Documentation re the reset options comes as hard copy in the box and also detailed in the WiKi https://www.meteobridge.com/wiki/index. ... ng_Started

https://www.meteobridge.com/wiki/index.php/System outlines the Admin tab regard Configuration Data: Restore/Backup. Database backup in the most recent FW version is now under the Database>Administration tab with backup device/location/access dependent on model (NanoSD/Pro/Pro2 etc)

Note that a full factory reset retains the data stored on the internal drive

Thanks, Mattk! I will learn from it. I have all back now besides the services, especially data going to my PWS Dashboard: https://wassmer.org/pwsWD/index.php. Did I understand right that my latest configuration is on the internal storage of the weatherbridge? If so, where? That would be awsome as it took me a while to get the PWS Dashboard where I wanted it...

"Data" that was stored on the internal drive should still be intact. Configurations are written to your computer hard drive from which you should copy to an archive safe place.

So how can I get to these internal files? I did not save the configuration!

via SMB or via the Updown/Upload utilities or depending on your firmware version direct from the System> Administration tab?

What is your firmware version?

Ok then unfortunately same as a plain Nano, no hard storage, no data retention other than in memory, no internal files, no database unlike the Pro, Pro2 or NanoSD

Thanks anyway. I think I have almost everything back, and this time, the configuration is saved...
