Cannot connect to port 22222 on pro 2. **solved**

Post by wsnoordbergum »

Changing from Nano SD to pro 2 is almost complete, after some trouble with database and my historical data
With my Nano SD it is possible to connect a third party weather program through TCP IP and port 22222
I'm running CumulusMX on a Rpi and that works fine with my Nano SD, I use CumulusMX for my website and the Steelseries gauges
For testing I'm running CumulusMX on my laptop but it will not connect to my Pro2, also tried the Raspberry Pi to connect to the Pro 2 but it will not connect through port 22222
The only thing I changed was the IP adress in the CumulusMX program, which is of my Pro 2

Is it possible to connect with port 22222 on the pro 2 like the Nano SD?

Also logging states numerous times:

nbiot (14.04.2024 17:12:42): read error from device /dev/ttyS1: Bad file descriptor

Any help would be appreciated, because I really need Cumulusmx to work with my Pro 2

I've read on the meteobridge website that a meteobridge with a meteostick cannot pass through data to a third party weather program

So the MB pro 2 also cannot do this?

Is this a limitation of the pro 2?

No, it is not designed that way.
The port 2222 communication is based on the Davis IP logger facilities.

As long as there is a console attached (IP or USB) to the Metebridge the IP-port 22222 works.
The Meteobridge will pass through the communication to and from the console and let both parties do what they want.
The Meteobridge just listens to the communication and uses the weather-data for its own purposes.

But a Meteostick is not a console, it is just an ISS receiver. No internal storage.
It can not receive or understand the weather-program requests or deliver the data a console can.
And the Meteobridge does not "emulate" a Davis-console either.
So with a Meteostick -Meteobridge there is no Davis-console to receive the 2222 communication.

Thanks for the info
I will continue to use my Nano SD in order to feed my cumulusMX program with data through port 22222
