I am using a wireless Davis Vantage Pro II weather station with the Meteobridge PRO2:
1. A few months ago, I saw some odd values, but at the time there was another support question raised on this Meteobridge Forum about similar issues, which was resolved by a software update, so I don't know if this is the same problem (or whether it is a Davis sensor/signal issue). This week on 23 Nov 2024, I noticed a spurious rainfall data values in the information I am capturing via the values produced by [rain0total-daysum.1:--]
In the data, this summative value has decreased (from 11.4 to 11.0mm) and then increased again in values collected at 5 min intervals:
2. There have also been some mysterious extra rainfall values, such as this +25.6mm (1 inch?) in 5 minutes at 00:37 hrs in the early morning of 27 Nov 2024 when there was no rainfall:
This was coincident with an extra high wind gust value, which also seemed to be a spurious value. Other data such as wind direction, temperature and humidity seemed normal:
I also show the rainfall signal chart:
Question: Is there any way for me to investigate these further? Or any suggestions what else to try? I did not have access to the Davis Console display at the time of these events, so can't confirm if the Meteobridge was different to the Davis console, but will try to compare if this occurs again.
This is not urgent at all. Love to all at Meteobridge!

Re: Occasional rainfall anomalies
I had a similar problem today with the Davis Pro 2 Plus and the meteostick
At 2:36 in the night recorded a wind gust of 80.6Km/h with stillness
and the same instant solar radiation 1116.0 W/m^2!
Note that the Davis console did not record any of the above values
Platform: Raspberry Pi 4 Model B
RAM: 3895 MB total, 3626 MB free (6% used)
Storage: ATP SLC, 1.5 GB total, 724 MB free (53% used, 254.2 yrs)
SW Version: Meteobridge 6.0 (Oct 23 2024, build 3590), FW 1.3

Re: Occasional rainfall anomalies
Funny enough, I noted my MB had recorded also 25.6 mm of rain, but for November 3rd around noon. While Weatherlink / Envoy had captured none. Also neighbouring stations recorded nothing that day.
And also Wind0Wind recorded a max spike during the same hour of 10.4 m/s, while the rest of the day the wind didn't go higher than 3.8 m/s.
Other parameters including rainrate do not show a spike in same timeframe.

Re: Occasional rainfall anomalies
Please reduce RF sensitivity to -80 db as your RF is coming in rather strong (-65 db).
Otherwise you will collect a lot of RF noise which some of it looking like valid data and then resulting into phantom data.

Re: Occasional rainfall anomalies
Ah, thank you very much. That makes sense. I will change that.
Re: Occasional rainfall anomalies
Regarding rainfall anomalies (decreasing values) I had this experienced after a reboot, sometime. Is that related to reboots in your case as well?

Re: Occasional rainfall anomalies
Thank you for your continued attention. I think that might be the case for the decreasing values.
I am still monitoring the effect of changing the RF sensitivity for the other symptom.
Happy to close this support matter.
