Another Meteobridge VM Bug? **solved**

Post by AA5H_AX088 »

Boris, (or Brian )

I have another issue with the new "VM" version. When third-party weather networks are added, they revert to default credentials the following day. This past Saturday, I programmed 4 - 5 additional third-party sites, all verified as functioning. On Monday morning, I received email notices from several of the networks that they stopped receiving data; on viewing the "Weather Network" tab, I found that almost all network credentials had changed to "Meteobridge" along with some unknown password. I corrected all the errors and had everything back online and verified by Monday afternoon.

Tuesday morning: All of the 3rd-party websites have again reverted to default credentials (See below). Help!

Ive just re-added all my weather sites for the 5th time today.

After I close the browser and logout, the website's site IDs, keys, etc revert back to defaults.

Need an answer soon, I'm already getting nastygrams from several of the sites

Did you check if your VM gets reverted to a previous snapshot by some scheduled process? Config files are in the /root/ file system. Who should overwrite those? Really strange. I also have a VM install here, that does not show any of these symptoms. Or is your browser tricking you by some prefill or translation actions going wild?

If you give me remote access, I can have a look. Please send credentials to "info(at)meteobridge.com".

Boris:

I did have multiple browser windows open, so I closed all of them and then reopened just one browser window. When I SAVE-QUIT-RE-OPEN, the username variables still change to "Meteobridge."

The exception is PWS Weather, which remains valid.

Let me check PROXMOX for any stray Chronjobs or Snapshots first. I'll let you know tomorrow if I need you to log in.

Thanks

Boris:

I found the bug; it was between my ears.

I checked all the Chrono and ProxMox related settings, flushed the cache, swapped browsers, etc...

Then I found the problem. I reloaded Meteobridge last Friday, everything reinstalled smoothly, and the license file was auto-loaded.

This afternoon, while re-checking all the Metebridge settings, I found that I never "checked" the checkbox accepting the license conditions. Apparently, without the checkmark, Meteobridge blocks adding any weather websites. Websites that are already configured are reset to a default username and password. Since checking the 'checkbox', I haven't had any problems. My apologies for wasting your time.

Glad you found the issue. Not having this marked should prevent you from accessing the other tabs completely. So it remains a bit mysterious to me and I am not sure what was really going on. Don't hesitate to reach out, when trouble shows up again. You can reach me per email as this is very specific issue related with your setup and might not have much in for the general audience: info(at)meteobridge.com
