Incoming SMS no longer shows Originator name. **solved**

Post by chrysnic »

Hello,

I have an MB PRO2 and I have an SMS service set up (through MessageBird) to send a daily SMS to my mobile phone number.

The software version is 6.2 (Jun 4 2025, build 5983).

Under "Services" --> "Service Settings" --> "SMS", the "Originator" name is configured as "Meteobridge".

Since 3 days ago, the daily incoming SMS arrives on my mobile phone without the originator name. Instead, the incoming SMS simply shows a random mobile phone number as the sender (i.e., originator). For each of these last three days, this sender number is different every day (possibly different MessageBird numbers).

I assume that, for some reason, the "Originator" name configured in the MB PRO2 is simply not "passed" on to MessageBird, or MessageBird simply ignores it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

UPDATE: After 6 days of this behavior, everything went back to normal (since 3 days ago). The incoming text messages now correctly display the pre-configured Originator name.

Perhaps this was an intermittent MessageBird "bug" that has now been fixed.
