Hi All,
I've got a Vantage VUE with the console using an onboard NanoSD. If I were to upgrade to a Vantage Pro2, how does Meteobridge work in conjuction with the shiny flat Weatherlink Console (SKU 6313 - https://www.davisinstruments.com/produc ... k-console/)
There does not appear to be anywhere for the likes of the NanoSD. Is it a case of upgrading to the Meteobridge Pro?
Regards

Re: Vantage VUE to Pro2 Upgrade
No, 6313 has no external port and only talks to WeatherLink.com, closed shop.
MBPro2 will talk direct to the ISS but standard does not quite have the same distance capabilities as a VP2. For better/longer reception you could re-transmit the signal from the Vue or use a VP2 repeater.

Re: Vantage VUE to Pro2 Upgrade
The best bet, to upgrade, is to get the replacement Vantage Pro ISS and just use that with the Vue Console.
The console is relatively immaterial and I believe can add the Pro ISS under a new ID# and remove the VUE ISS when it's working.
That way I can upgrade the weather HW and not have to upgrade the NanoSD.
Does this sound sensible?

Re: Vantage VUE to Pro2 Upgrade
Now getting confused, so question time?
Ok you have a Vantage VUE with the console using an onboard NanoSD.
So a Vantage VUE ISS and Vantage VUE console with NanoSD, correct? Which is essentially a VP2, Vantage Pro 2 anyway.
Upgrading to a Vantage Pro2? The you mean a separate rain gauge, anemometer, temp/Hum sensor, a 6322 style ISS but add the shiny 6313 console then becomes like a 6252 combination? Yes, No?
As previously mentioned nothing connects externally to the 6313 except WeatherlINk.com
Now you mention a replacement Vantage Pro ISS (you mean a VP2 ISS # 6322 correct? And yes that will work with the VUE console.
Yes the VP2 ISS (not Pro ISS) would run a different ID# to the VUE ISS ID# but without complicating things a console can only use one ID# at any one time.
Ok so what do you call the "Weather HW"? You referring to just the ISS?
Ok so I was originally thinking you were also referring to upgrading to a Meteobridge Pro (which would be a MBPro2) instead of the NanoSD? Yes/No? And yes you could do that but No you really don't have to do that, depending.
Does that make sense? What did I miss?

Which reads to me you want to upgrade/replace the VUE ISS with a YP2 ISS and yes you can retain your VUE console with NanoSD and all is good..... That way I can upgrade the weather HW and not have to upgrade the NanoSD....
Does that make sense? What did I miss?

Re: Vantage VUE to Pro2 Upgrade
Sorry to be unclear.
1) I have today a Davis Vantage Vue (Console and ISS - ID#1). Bought years ago. The VUE console has the NanoSD inserted.
2) I added a separate anemometer (ID#8)
I would like to upgrade to the Davis Vantage Pro. All new purchase options for the kit (https://www.weathershop.co.uk/brands/da ... antage-pro) use the new Pro console which, as you say, only talks to WL. So purchasing that would be a waste of cash. I have to purchase the Meteobridge Pro2 to replace the NanoSD...more cash.
I can buy, as a standalone, the Vantage Pro ISS (with the Solar and UV) without the anemometer and without the useless console. I can use this new Pro ISS (called ID#2) with the existing Vantage Vue Console...replacing the Vue ISS (ID#1 above).
I think this is the only way to upgrade the weather kit without wasting money on a console that's a closed book.
