I've just finished installing, setting up and activating my meteohub on an NSLU2.
I've got a PL2303 based usb-serial converter. recognised as such by other linux systems, and on the NSLU2when previously running debian lenny.
however, while the meteohub acknowledges it is attached (lsusb reports its IDs as Bus 3 Device 2: ID 4348:5523) no serial port is created in /dev, and meteohub's weather station page shows no available devices.
any help would be greatly appreciated.

Mark,
Meteohub (and the Davis VP 2 if that's what you're using) is sensitive to USB - serial converters. I've had success with a PL2303 from one manufacturer and failure with another 2303 from another source.
One 2303-based adapter I've used with success is the Iogear GUC232A available from a few different resellers.
Good luck!
Tom

Re:New install, NSLU2: PL2303 usb-serial converter, no seria
Thanks for the info.
However, a bit of digging through dmesg and logs made me think that it was just the driver not recognising my particular pl2303 converter.
Adding its IDs seems to have made it work (see http://jk.ufisa.uninett.no/usb/ for a guide).
I now get /dev/ttyUSB0. I can't check whether it works on my WMR968 yet though, it's at another location. With luck everything will now go smoothly.
