Good day everyone, I hope you're doing great!
I have problem with brand new unit. On very first power up I wanted to use it without lan cable. There are two pieces of information how to do it - one says if no lan cable attached it will boot into standalone AP mode, but that did not happen, it said on LCD that no network is found and that's it. The second piece of information is to use paper clip to push reset button, which I tried but the unit did not respond to that at all. I tried to hold-push reset for long time, even more than 30 seconds, but still no response.
Then I attached lan cable and rebooted. It got IP from my DHCP, and I successfully logged in into web interface. Accepted licence, and went to Network tab. There, I selected Standalone mode and rebooted via Save and reboot button. After it came up, on LCD I can see that it is in AP mode, it gives SSID to connect to, but when I try to find that SSID on my laptop it is simply not there. I rebooted unit via power off/on, it came back, showing the same SSID, but still not available among wifi networks.
At this point I'm pretty much locked out of unit, as now connecting lan cable and rebooting does nothing; unit remains in from what I can tell non-functional AP mode, so I cannot connect to it via WLAN. Also, reset button still does not work so I cannot get back to factory settings to try to use LAN anymore.
Is the unit faulty?
Best wishes,
Ivan Toman

Sorry to hear that you have trouble with the setup.
The button behind the oinhole is not acting on pressing for a specific time but on multipole short presses, as it also explains here in the wiki and in the attached leaflet.
Going back to DHCP LAN client mode is two presses. The OLED will show with a triangle which of the options you selected. When vertical bar reaches bottom, the selected option will be executed.
