I am starting to think of a replacement of my 10 year old Davis Vantage Pro2 weather station and am looking at the Ambient Weather WS-5000 which seems pretty well respected. FYI This decision is not the bit I want help with!
I currently use meteobridge (running in Raspberry Pi 4B) to take data from my Vantage Pro feed via USB and send off to the various online systems and my own website. I want to keep the meteobridge as I think it works very well.
I just want to confirm the best way to connect a WS-5000 to my meteobridge. I want a simple reliable connection that updates every 5 to 10 seconds approx and I am happy to buy a Ecowitt GW3000 etc if that's what's needed.

Re: Ambient Weather WS-5000 to meteobridge
I've been running a Davis Vantage Pro2 with Meteobridge on a Raspberry Pi for many years now, and it's been an extremely reliable combination. I can't answer your WS-5000 question from personal experience, but I'd be interested to hear what others recommend for the best integration.
On a related note, I'm currently troubleshooting an intermittent low-battery issue on my VP2 ISS after many years of service. I'm waiting to hear back from Davis Support before deciding whether to repair or replace it.
If anyone is planning to retire or replace their Davis Vantage Pro2 as part of moving to a WS-5000 or another system, I'd certainly be interested in hearing from you. I'd be happy to give an older VP2 a second life, especially if it's complete or has a good ISS.
Good luck with your upgrade, and I'd be interested in seeing what connection method Meteobridge users recommend for the WS-5000.
