Mail events stopped working. **solved**

Post by GeertLint »

Good afternoon,

I have a Meteobridge PRO2 Model1.0 and end May the e-mail events, that worked fine for more than a year, all stopped generating mails.
What have I already tried?
1) Test mail service settings : this works
2) test the mail events via the test button => no success
3) created a new mail event + test via test button => no success
4) Restored configuation data => no succes
5) factory reboot + restore configuration dat => no succes

Is there a known issue with the mail events or do you have a solution for this problem ?
Thanks a lot for any suggestions !

Change like this is typically on the providers end? You say your email settings are all good? Authentication, SMTP Host, Port, User & Password? To-Address is valid? From-Address doesn't need to be real but I did have an instance not so long ago where all of a sudden a hyphenated from address like user-user@email stopped working, removing the - fixed that but why it occurred had no idea.

Failing all else do you have available different email settings, different email account/SMTP host etc. Have also had emails that worked for years then what worked well stops working and not sure why? Changed SMTP host & associated settings and been good for quite some time. I think there's been a lot of tightening up of Auth, User&Password requirements on the providers end?

Good afternoon,

I tried another e-mail provider and now the mails from the e-mail events are sent again !
I tried it earlier with no success, but I guess I was not patient enough ;-)

Thanks for your suggestion, problem solved !
