Raspberry Pi Meteobridge SD Card

I have managed to get the Pi up and runing but i am getting a message my high endurance Sandisk SD card is not supported.
Can anyone who has the Pi running tell me the details of their SD card please.
There appears to be a shortage of cards available.

SD cards need to be high endurance industrial grade SLC and not simply high endurance consumer MLC/TLC versions. Have you checked the Raspberry Pi list of industrial SLC cards? https://www.meteobridge.com/wiki/index.php/Hardware

I managed to find a card at Weather Spares (UK).
Meteo need to relax the storage requirements and also update their compatability list. Most cards on the list are obsolete.
Perhaps a revamp of the pi software to allow the use of M.2 storage.

No relaxing the storage requirements would end up in the same situation before the SLC requirement was put in place, people would be complaining when non SLC failed continued to fail.

I think one would have to weigh up the extremely expensive (and quite rare) true SLC M.2 storage as M.2 mainly use TLC or QLC but even with a SLC cache/mode they are still not true SLC and prone to failure? This whole compatibility list thing is a product of previous consumer/prosumer failure history, obviously anything can fail but I have had a 100% run with SLC now for over 10 years and still running many which are no longer available but do have replacement spares of same.

The compatibility list could be added for new releases but anything on the list (superseded or otherwise) would have to stay

I n that case why not add the replacements for the superceded ones to the list. Many sites offer equivalents.

If you have a list of replacement part numbers then Boris would probably check out their compatibility specs. ideally if they can be sourced from some of the bigger global suppliers like Mouser, Digi-Key etc makes them easier to acquire.

This seems to reinforce the need for the replacement part numbers to be evaluated and, where suitable, added to the compatibility list.

Currently, industrial SD card availability is a nightmare. I am waiting for delivery of 120 SLC SD cards from WD since March and delivery dates gets postponed again and again. As I have paid some thousands of Euros for this bunch in advance in March it is not really funny.

I did research on alternative high endurance cards from Sandisk and the "max endurance" series looks appropriate. When you take the 32 GB variant wear is also reduced by spreading data to a larger volume of cells. I use these cards for recent builds. Price is rather high for a non-SLC card, but this is our current fate living in an AI data center investment bubble...
