Windy API v1 shutdown. **solved**

Post by iu1jvo »

Hello,
I receved an email form windy. The actual API v1 is deprecated and will shutted down on december 31th 2026.

I'm using the default windy plug-in to upload the data on windy. Will the Windy plugin updated to Windy API v2 soon?

Thanks.

Windy V2 API is already supported by Meteobridge since version 6.3. You can read in the Meteobridge release info for April 26. https://www.meteobridge.com/wiki/index.php?title=Forum
Released April 26, 2026

finalizes support for new Windy stuff, which was a pain to do as support from Windy - apart from content free forum posts - is practically non-existent. Meteobridge now supports the legacy upload API and the new API v2. Windy announces that legacy API will be disabled end 2026 (at least that is what they say), so switch to v2 might be necessary for all Windy users. Meteobridge automatically detects if you provide an API key and a numeric station ID (mostly "0") or if you use the new v2 credentials where the API key is replaced by a password and a more complex station ID.
